Boylan, Ella #2 (20 JUN 1868 - 27 FEB 1940)
Mrs. Ella Boylan, age seventy-one, who was well known in Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), died at the home of her son Kenneth Boylan in Marshfield on Tuesday morning, Feb. 27, 1940. Mrs. Boylan had been in poor health since last August.
The body was brought to Withee on Wednesday, where it lay in state at the home of her son James, where she made her home since the death of her husband, until about two years ago, when she had been living with her son Kenneth, at Marshfield.
Funeral services were conducted at the Sacred Heart Church at Withee, Friday morning, where requiem high mass was read by Rev. C. Brady of Withee, assisted by Rev. Gaffney and Rev. Clemik of Marshfield. The body was laid to rest in the family lot at the Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Boylan, nee Miss Ella Murphy, was born in the town of Harris, Marquette Co., June 20, 1868. Her husband James Boylan preceded her in death in 1931. To this union four children were born, James Boylan, Withee, Mrs. Geo. (Marie) Jensen, Chicago, Kenneth Boylan, Marshfield, and a son Carey Boylan, who died in 1926. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. John (Lucy) Barrett, Montello; and Mrs. Julia Barry, Wis. Rapids; one brother, Thomas Murphy, and two sisters and six brothers preceded her in death.
Pallbearers were Andrew Herman, Fred Scherf, Tom Haas, Ed Miller, Art Smasal and Harry Thorson, of Withee, Wis.
