Miss Winifred Conklin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Conklin of Kilbourne, Ill., and Mr. Jack M. Conklin, adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Conklin, were united in marriage at the home of the groom’s parents on March 6th, 1940. Rev. James Irish performed the double ring ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Williamson, sister of the bride, were witnesses. Little Robert Williamson acted as ring bearer. Miss Conklin graduated from the Kilbourne, Ill. High School and since has been employed by Mr. McNaughton, Editor of the Pekin Times at Pekin, Ill.
Jack Conklin graduated from Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) High School with the class of 1931. He was employed on the county highways for several years, but is now farming for himself. Incidentally the young couple were married on the sixty-third anniversary of their grandparent’s wedding, Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Conklin, their grandmother is now deceased. They were treated to a charivari by their friends in the evening.
