Neiman, Agnes (21 JAN 1857 - 20 APR 1940)

Mrs. Agnes Neiman passed away at her home in the village of the infirmities of old age on Saturday, April 20th, 1940, having reached the age of 83 years, 2 months and 29 days.

The deceased was born in Poland on Jan. 21, 1857. She was united in marriage to Frank Neiman in 1877, and came to America with her husband in 1896, residing at St. Joseph, Mo., for ten years before coming to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and settling on a farm in the town of Withee, Wis. In 1922 they retired from farming and moved to the village which has since been her home. Mr. Neiman departed this life on Aug. 23, 1924.

Mrs. Neiman was a member of the Holy Rosary Society of St. Hedwig’s Church. Surviving her are four sons, Joseph of Franksville, Wis., Stanley and Frank P. of Thorp, and John of St. Paul; three daughters, Mrs. Josephine Papierniak and Mrs. Mary Lesniewski of Thorp, and Mrs. Valeria Grabowski of St. Paul; one sister, Mrs. Magdalen Kalinowski of St. Joseph, Mo., thirty-two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church at ten o’clock Tuesday morning with Rev. F.A. Kulig, Rev. Thos. Adamiak and Rev. J. Rapala officiating, and interment following in the parish cemetery. Grandsons of the deceased were pallbearers: Walter and Theodore Papierniak, Frank and Joseph Lesniewski and Leon and Alex Neiman.
