Hubbard, AlVera (15 MAY 1940)

In an eight o’clock ceremony performed at St. Mary’s Church, Stanley, Wednesday morning, May 15, 1940, wedlock, Mr. Harvey Boie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Boie of the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.), and Miss AlVera Hubbard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Hubbard, also of Worden.

The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of peach brocaded chiffon over satin of floor length and wore a white fingertip trimmer with peach lace. She carried white lilies. She was attended by Miss Elaine Haas, cousin of the groom, who wore a blue chiffon formal over satin, and her sister, Miss Beryl Hubbard who wore a dress of green sheer. Both bridesmaids carried bouquets of peach roses and sweet peas. The groom’s attendants were his brother Byron Boie and Allen Hubbard, brother of the bride. All wore the conventional dark blue.

A reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents with immediate relatives of the contracting parties present. In the evening a wedding dance was given in the American Legion hall in Thorp.

The newlyweds left the following day on a trip to Oshkosh, Milwaukee, Madison and Wis. Dells. Both the parents of the bride and groom accompanied them.

The groom is employed by the Clark County Highway Department.
