Ackerman, Cynthia J. “Cyndi” (9 July 1963 - 2024)
Cynthia “Cyndi” J. (Seefeld) Ackerman, age 60, formerly of Riplinger, passed
away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Marshfield Medical Center.
Cyndi was born on July 9, 1963, the daughter of Norman and Nola (Schofield)
Seefeld in Walworth County. She grew up in the Riplinger area and attended Colby
schools.
Cyndi loved animals, especially her dog, Brandy and her cats, Champ and Punky.
She enjoyed traveling, loved being at the lake, was an avid reader, liked to
play games and ride motorcycle. Cyndi was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church
in Riplinger.
Cyndi is survived by her sister, Lynne Frane of Willard; her brother, Glenn
(Joanne) Seefeld of Spencer and her sister-in-law, Doris Seefeld. She is further
survived by her seven nieces and nephews: Rick (Debbie) Hardrath, Robin (Larry)
Hederer, Pam (Steven) Knurr, Troy (Kim) Seefeld, Kristen (Mike) Engevold, Matt
(Kirsten) Frane and Sarah (Brian) Hanson; great-nieces, great-nephews, other
relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Dennis Seefeld; a
brother-in-law, Phillip Frane; a niece, Kelly Wussow and a nephew, Randy
Hardrath.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. A visitation will be held from
12:00 p.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. Jeff
Siegel will officiate. Interment will follow at the St. John’s Cemetery in
Riplinger.

Bliese, James O. “Jim” (19 December 1941 – 4 March 2024)
James “Jim” O. Bliese, age 82, of Spencer, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024, at
Colonial Health and Rehab in Colby.
Jim was born December 19, 1941, the son of Villas and Stella Bliese in
Watertown. He graduated from Milby High School in Houston, TX. On October 10,
1992, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Connie Day-Bliese, at
Old World Wisconsin in the Old Catholic Church in Kettle Moraine.
In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, walks with our little Cocker Spaniel,
Cookie, and was a big Packer Fan. He especially enjoyed Summers at our Cabin in
Chetek, WI. Those who knew Jim best will miss his smile and his kind ways, and
his love of nature and the birds. His favorite was the Mr. & Mrs. Cardinal.
Jim is lovingly survived by his wife, Connie; and their Cocker Spaniel, Cookie.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents: Villas and Stella Bliese.
Services will be held at noon Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Hansen-Schilling
Funeral Home (1010 E Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield. Fr. Barry Saylor will
officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the
time of service on Saturday. Military Honors will be performed at the funeral
home following the service by Stratford Memorial VFW Post 6352 Honor’s Team.
Thank You to Colonial Health & Rehab Center for all the end-of-life care. All
the nurses and Staff were so caring and loving to Jim, that it is greatly
appreciated.

Holdal, John Ray (14 August 1952 – 4 March 2024)
John Ray Holdal, age 71, of the Town of Spencer, passed away on Monday, March 4,
2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family under the care of Compassus
Hospice.
John Ray Holdal was born the fifth child to Emmet and Alice (Miller) Holdal on
August 14, 1952, in Lemmon, SD. John grew up and attended school in Lemmon and
graduated in 1970. After graduation he moved to Illinois for about 6-7 years.
From Illinois, he moved to Wyoming and South Dakota before moving to Wisconsin
where he resided until his death on March 4, 2024. On October 31, 1997, he was
united in marriage to Marlene Wolf in Las Vegas. John drove semi for over 40
years delivering mobile homes across the United States.
John was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears, Bulls and Cubs; always watching and
cheering them on. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and spending time with his
grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marlene; his children, Brandon of Virginia
Beach, VA and Jackie (Aaron) of Lancaster, OH; his stepdaughter, Kimberly (Ryan)
of Marshfield; his grandchildren, Aiden, Emerson, Evan, Austin, Aaron and Owen;
his brothers, Gary (Kathy) Holdal and Deryl Holdal; his sisters, Joyce Pederson
and Rondi (Dean) Isreal along with many other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Emmet and Alice Holdal; a brother,
Rod Holdal; a sister, Linda Hendricks and brothers-in-law, Ike, Elmer and Alan.
To honor John’s wishes, his family will be having a small gathering to share
memories and stories on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the Spencer Village Hall
Community Room, 105 S. Park Street, Spencer, from 11 A.M. to 3 P.M.

Kloth, James J. (1 December 1958 – 4 March 2024)
Jesse J. Kloth, age 65, of Dorchester, passed away surrounded by his loving
family on Monday, March 4, 2024, at UW Hospital in Madison.
Jesse was born on December 1, 1958, the son of Lester and Gertrude (Schwartz)
Kloth in Marshfield. He graduated from Colby High School in 1977. Jesse worked
at Stratford Homes for many years.
Jesse was a faithful member of Christ United Church in Athens. He had a big
heart and loved to help others. Jesse enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching movies,
tinkering, and traveling. He especially loved going to gun shows all over the
Midwest and attending the Iola car show. He had a passion for building anything
on two or four wheels and constructing anything his imagination would allow.
Jesse loved and cherished his family, especially his children and his
granddaughter, Abby, who is his pride and joy.
Jesse is survived by his two children: Nicole (Marc) Kloth-den Otter of Athens
and Jeremy (Julia) Kloth of Europe; his granddaughter, Abigail Duerr; his five
siblings: Kenneth (Bonnie) Kloth of Merrill, Ruthie Maw of Finger, TN, Jerry
(Marlene) Kloth of Wausau, Bonnie (Robert) Svoboda of Colby and Lyle (LuAnn)
Kloth of Dorchester; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is
preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David and his brother-in-law, Jim
Maw.
A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Christ
United Church in Athens. The Rev. Teri Hanson will officiate. Interment will
follow at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 1:00

Krause, Jerome N. (17 December 1947 – 29 February 2024)
Jerome N. Krause, 76, of the Town of Brighton, passed away surrounded by his
loving family on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at his home under the care of St.
Croix Hospice.
Jerome was born on December 17, 1947, in the Town of Brighton to Norman and
Wilma (Bruss) Krause. He attended Brighton Elementary School and graduated from
Spencer High School. He also attended the Farm Short Course in Madison. On
August 15, 1970, he was united in marriage to Patsy Jean Luchterhand at Trinity
Lutheran Church in Loyal. He owned and operated a dairy farm at the home farm
where he lived all his life, having taken over when his dad passed away. After
retiring from farming, Jerome drove school bus and the clinic shuttle for
Marshfield Bus, later known as Kobussen Bus Company from 2009-2021.
He was confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer where he and Pat were
members until they transferred to Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield. Jerome
was a member of the Jaycees for years when he and Pat first married and was on a
bowling team. He was a past member of the Town of Brighton Zoning Committee.
Jerome joined the Spencer Fire Department in December of 1984, and retired from
the department in 2012 as an honorary member of 28 years of dedicated service to
the community.
Hobbies included watching Packer games and playing Sheepshead with friends and
attending events that the grandchildren were involved in. He liked to play chess
with his grandsons and in his retirement years, he enjoyed tending to his
garden. In retirement, Jerome enjoyed driving through the country, following
“different” roads with his wife, Pat. They called it “going trucking.” Also in
later years, they enjoyed evening drives looking for deer around the
countryside. Spending time with family and friends was always a top priority for
them. Jerome’s life was certainly wrapped up in his grandchildren.
Those who will cherish his memory are his loving wife, Patsy; his children, Amy
(Brent) Brooks of Spencer, Gayle (John) Post of Spencer, Rebecca (Greg) Kulas of
Medford and Ron Krause of Spencer; his grandchildren, Jacob (Becky) Oldenberg of
Elkridge, MD, Erica (Glen) Gardner of Wausau, Daniel (fiancé, Emily Nemitz)
Richmond of Pearl Harbor, HI, Lucas Brooks of Spencer, Emma (special friend,
Maddy Wallace) Brooks of Spencer, Erin (special friend, Tanner Vancour) Brooks
of Spencer, Calvin (Brooke) Lenz of Spencer, Brandon (fiancé, Dolorosa Thomas)
Lenz of Spencer, Austin (special friend, Maddie McPhee) Mientke of Medford and
Kaileigh Mientke of Medford; his step-grandchildren, Dominic (special friend,

Jerome was preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah Krause; his father, Norman
Krause; his mother and step-father Wilma and Walter Neumann; his in-laws,
Orville and Ellen Luchterhand and his son-in-law, Marv Richmond.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Christ
Lutheran Church in Marshfield with Rev. Andrew Belt officiating. He will be laid
to rest in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Brighton. Family and friends
are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Friday from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M.
at Life Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer and again at the church on Saturday
from 10 A.M. until time of service. The honor of pallbearer belongs to his
grandsons, Jacob Oldenberg, Calvin Lenz, Brandon Lenz, Austin Mientke, Daniel
Richmond and Lucas Brooks. Honorary pallbearers are Erica Gardner, Kaileigh
Mientke, Emma Brooks, Erin Brooks, Ashley Quartaro, Dominic Post and Dalton
Post.
His family extends their appreciation for the comfort and care Jerome received
from the dedicated staff of St. Croix Hospice.

Mason, Scott Henry (11 July 1938 – 2 March 2024) With Flag
Scott Henry Mason, 85, passed away on March 2, 2024, at the Marshfield Medical
Center in Marshfield surrounded by family.
Scott was born on July 11, 1938, in Stanley, the son of Henry and Grace (Smally)
Mason. He was raised on the family farm south of Thorp, and received his
education at Butler School.
In 1957, Scott joined the National Guard followed by the Army from 1961-1962. He
was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA. for two years with training for “Bay of Pigs”
conflict. After his military service, Scott returned to Thorp and worked for
Huberty, delivering gas.
On September 1, 1973, he was united in marriage to LaVonne Stuart. They had a
great marriage that spanned 50 years and 6 months. Scott operated the Union 76
Gas Station in Thorp from 1969 to 1975. He then took over his father’s farm in
Butler Township and farmed there until 2005, when he retired.
Scott enjoyed many interests from making maple syrup, hunting, fishing to
gardening. After his retirement, he started baking and he taught himself how to
sew. He enjoyed making quilts and blankets for many of his family members. He
also made shelves for the salt and pepper shaker collection. He loved spending
time with his grandkids, and especially enjoyed taking them fishing.
He was a member of the Thorp American Legion Post 118, the 40/8 Voiture Locale
#821, the Thorp Sportsman’s Club, the Thorp Moose Lodge and the Thorp Methodist
Church. He was very active with the American Legion and served as a
Sergeant-of-Arms for Post 118 and Clark County.
Scott is survived by his wife, LaVonne, his children, Steven (Frances) Mason,
Nichole (Kari) Schmidt, Valerie (Will) Mason, Ryan Mason, Jonathon “Boots’
(Michelle) Mason, 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren with another one on
the way, 3 siblings, Charles (Iona) Mason, Sam (Pat) Mason, Darwin “Punky”
(Ricky) Mason and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his
parents.
Funeral Services for Scott will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at
the Thorp Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March
12th and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 13th at the Thorp Funeral
Home. Interment, with military honors, will be in the Town of Butler Cemetery.
The Cuddie Funeral Home in Thorp is assisting Scott’s family with funeral
arrangements.

Steiner, Carolyn M. (25 May 1927 – 2 March 2024)
Carolyn M. Steiner, age 96, of Withee passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at
Aspirus Stanley Hospital.
Carolyn was born on May 25, 1927, the daughter of Earl and Evelyn (Finkenbinder)
Clay in Apple River, IL. She attended Iowa State Teachers College and taught at
several rural elementary schools in IL. Carolyn then received her BS degree in
teaching from UW-Platteville and taught high school in Stockton, IL and 3rd
grade in Owen-Withee. On August 17, 1952, she was united in marriage to Wendell
Steiner in Stockton, IL. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2012.
Carolyn was active in her church for many years. She was a happy, kind and
forgiving person who loved nature; especially clouds, birds and rocks. Most
importantly, Carolyn loved and cherished her family, especially her children,
grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by her seven children: Daniel Steiner of Withee, Richard
(fiancée, Sandy Dziak) of Umatilla, FL, Patricia Steiner of Withee, Anne (Dan)
Weibel of La Crosse, Lorraine Gabbert of Minneapolis, MN, Christopher (Becky)
Steiner of Withee and Gary (Angelica) Steiner of Valencia, Spain; 13
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Evelyn Weibel, RoseAnna (Orlando)
Martinez and their daughter, Jocelyn, Joellyn (Steve) Krause and their son,
Landon, Natalie Steiner, Rachel Gabbert, Brooke Pakala, Holly Miller, Karrisa
(Matt) Rankin, Lee Steiner, Alicia Steiner, Sarah Steiner and Andi and Alan
Coria Cano. She is further survived by her brother, Don (Kathy) Clay of SC;
nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wendell; two brothers and
two sisters: Kenny Clay, Charlie Clay, Joan Talkington and Earlene Logeman.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Alliance Church in
Withee on Friday, March 8, 2024. Pastor Andy Davis will officiate. Family and
friends are welcome from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.

Thomas, Dale Harvey (30 April 1930 – 29 February 2024) With Flag
Dale H. Thomas, age 93, of Greenwood, peacefully entered eternal life on
Thursday, February 29, 2024.
Dale Harvey Thomas was born on April 30, 1930, in Neillsville, to Melvin M. and
Altah A. (nee Sischo) Thomas, and was the last living of five children. Growing
up on a dairy farm in Greenwood, Dale loved to read and hunt. His 8 years of
schooling never slowed his accomplishments, which included a small bar and
blacksmith shop. Dale then moved to Milwaukee and worked for American Motors,
before starting his successful machine shop, which he ran until he retired in
1990. He met his lovely wife, Crystal E. Roix, at a 4-H meeting. They married on
June 26, 1954, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Longwood. He and Criss enjoyed
roller skating in their younger years and were avid card players and loved to
dance.
Dale thoroughly enjoyed hunting, and his accomplishments were displayed in his
basement museum which included; bear, cougar, moose, caribou, mountain lion, and
sheep to name a few. Other pastimes were bowling, golfing, his fishing trips to
Canada, and he enjoyed helping with the Streets of Greenwood Museum. He was also
a great accordion player, and he enjoyed playing the harmonica. He was a member
of the Safari Club and the Greenwood Industrial Development.
Dale is survived by his wife, Criss, of Germantown; his children: Dennis (Lori)
Thomas of Campbellsport, Carmon (Mark) Mathy of Germantown, Timothy Thomas of
Lebanon, MO, Eric (Terri) Thomas of Hubertus, and Cynthia (Steven) Behmke of
Slinger. Dale is also survived by his eldest daughter, Cathy (Larry) Pupp of
Houston MN, along with 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 step
grandchildren; 2 step great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson: Jason Pupp; two sisters:
Geneva Olson and Helen Severson; and two brothers: Frank and Ralph Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Our
Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greenwood. Rev. Elizabeth Bier will officiate, and
burial will follow in the Greenwood City Cemetery, with military rites conducted
by the Greenwood American Legion Post #238. Visitation will be held at the
church, on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Potter, Norma F. (7 April 1925 – 8 March 2024)
Norma F. Potter of Marshfield passed away peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2024,
at the age of 98.
Norma was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was born April 7, 1925, to Robert and Anna (Thomas) Strey. She attended
Romadka country grade school and graduated from Granton High School. Following
graduation she worked at Wepfer Pharmacy in Loyal. She married Robert on June 8,
1950. They farmed in Spokeville until Robert’s death in 1982. She continued to
farm with her son and daughter-in-law until she moved to Marshfield. She worked
part time at Wing’s Hallmark store for fourteen years and enjoyed working there
and the “Hallmark friends” she made.
She will be deeply missed by her family Kathleen/Michael Wood, Karen/Ken Tritz,
Sharon/Denny Rollins, Randy Potter/Julie Wolf, Steve/Joli Potter; her
grandchildren; Tonya Frankwick, Kerry Frankwick, Craig/Deahlee Tritz, Marci/Wes

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, grandson Michael Frankwick and
great grandson Evan Griesbach. She was also preceded in death by her parents
Robert/Anna Strey and her brothers and sisters: Elsie/George Fricke,
Ernest/Violet Strey, Helen/Manuial Domine, Hazel/Marvin Seeman, Earlen/Rosa
Strey, Raymond Strey, Victor/Delores Strey, Laverne/Leonard Morin, Ceylon
/Martha Strey, Robert/Joann Strey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on March 18, 2024, at
St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (201 W Blodgett St, Marshfield, WI). Norma
will be laid to rest in St. Anthony’s Catholic cemetery in Loyal following the
service. A dinner will follow at Loyal Sportsman's Club (W3552 Chickadee Road)
following the committal service.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the church beginning 11:30 until
time of service. Father Dan Thelen will officiate. The honor of pallbearer
belongs to her grandchildren Mike Frankwick, Kerry Frankwick, Craig Tritz, Marci
Griesbach, Matt Rollins, Stacy Lindner, Daric Potter, Amanda Hiles, Jenna Hemp,
Ryan Potter.
We would like to thank staff from Aster’s Assisted Living, Heartland Hospice and
Inclusa for their care and kindness particularly during mom’s final days.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, please make a donation to your favorite church or
charity in mom’s honor.
