Garbisch, Gustave E. (20 SEP 1870 - 16 JUL 1940)

Gustave Edward Frederick Garbisch died suddenly of a heart attack at Marshfield Tuesday afternoon July 16th. Mr. Garbisch was in poor health for the past few years and about a month ago he underwent a serious operation but fully recovered and came about two weeks ago feeling fine. On Tuesday, Mr. Garbisch, his wife and daughter, Mrs. Clint Bardell went to Marshfield on business where death took him suddenly while sitting in the car.

Mr. Garbisch was born in Grant township September 20, 1870 to Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Garbisch where he made his home. On March 24, 1896 he was married to Miss Anne Thiede at Granton. They lived there until forty years ago when he bought a farm in the Town of York and lived there at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anne Garbisch and three daughters, (Elsie) Mrs. Ed Dollase of Neillsville, (Sadie) Mrs. Clinton Bardell of Greenwood, and (Margaret) Mrs. Ray Hannan of Neillsville, Wis. One son and two infant daughters preceded him in death. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two brothers of Granton.

The funeral service was held Friday, July 19, at 1:30 at the home and 2:00 at the Lutheran Church at Loyal of which he was a member. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Langholz and three songs were sung by the choir. The burial took place at the Neillsville cemetery.

The pall bearers were Reinhard Zickert, Henry Grosnick, Peter Buddinger, Harmon Huntley, George Kronberger, and Carl Sischo.

Those who carried the flowers were Miss Alice Thiede, Miss Marie Rondorf, Miss Agnes Kronberger, Miss Florence Garbush, Mrs., George Buddinger, Mrs. Albert Schecklmann, and Mrs. Ray Dorst.

Those who were here from away were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Garbisch and daughter Mrs. Pruce, Mrs. John Garbush, Mr. Ewald Thiede and family, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Winter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Goebel, Mr. and Mrs. John Gluck, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schafer, Mr. Ed. Wiesner, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Garbisch, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Garbush and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Garbush all of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Alois Stange, Athens; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Dodie and daughter, Mrs. Wm. Dollase, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dollase, Jr., Mrs. Minnie Bardell and Mrs. Anna McCim and son all of Neillsville, Wis.
