Kissinger, Margaret #2 (6 MAY 1846 - 27 JUL 1940)

Mrs. Margaret Kissinger passed away Saturday, July 27, 1940 at the home of her daughter Mrs. Emma Wagner, at the age of 94 years, 2 months and 21 days. She was born May 6, 1846 in Germany. She came with her parents to Plymouth at the age of nine months. She received her education in Plymouth grade school.

In November 1866 Margaret was united in marriage to Philip Kissinger. From there she came with her husband to Spencer where they started a meat market. They didn’t have much success as their shop burned to the ground. From there they moved to the Town of Sherman where they made their home for 50 or 60 years.

Mr. Kissinger preceded her in death eight years ago. Since that time she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Emma Wagner, until death came.

To this union ten children were born. Six of them preceded their mother in death. Those left to mourn are two sons, Jake of Owen and Philip of Spokeville, and two daughters, Mrs. Emma Wagner and Mrs.. Herman Proctor (Mary) both of Owen, Wis. Twenty grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and a host of friends also mourn her loss. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held at the Owen Funeral home Tuesday, July 29, at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Polstead of the M. E. Church officiating with interment in West Spencer cemetery.

Six grandsons were pall bearers, Harold and Irving Nichols, Fred Youmans, Laurence Kissinger, Alvin Kissinger, and Mr. Wagner.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nichols of Oshkosh, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Cable and Mrs. John Cable, Mrs. Fred Kissinger of Plymouth, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Arndt and family of Janesville, Irving Nichols of Minneapolis, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Philip Kissinger and son Lawrence of Spokeville, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kissinger, Chili, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Genett and family, Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Mertin Youmans and daughter of Loyal, Mrs. Cora Dietsche and daughter Lillian, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fisher, Fred Rease, Jonas Ayers of Spencer, Carl Gerded of Spokeville.
