Martha L. Koch, 79, of Holcombe, formerly of Colby, Wisconsin, died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at the Cornell Health Care Center.
Maurina/Community Funeral Home of Abbotsford is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Martha L. Koch
HOLCOMBE -- Martha L. Koch, 79, of Holcombe, formerly of Colby, Wisconsin, beloved wife of Dr. James W. Koch, died on Thursday, March 2, 2006, at the Cornell Area Care Center in Cornell.
A memorial service with Martha will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 6, 2006, at the First United Church of Christ in Colby with the Rev. Kenneth A. Dix officiating. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation with family and friends will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
Maurina/Community Funeral Homes of Colby assisted the family with arrangements.
The former Martha Wilhelm was born Jan. 14, 1927, daughter of Earl and Eunice (Demundren) Wilhelm. Martha and James Koch were married April 22, 1948.
She received her nurse's training at Deaconess Hospital in Milwaukee and assisted her husband, Dr. J.W. Koch, in his practice with Colby Clinic. She also was a registered nurse at the Colonial Center Nursing Home in Colby, Wis. Upon her husband's retirement, they moved to Lake Holcombe in 1988. Martha enjoyed painting, bird watching, traveling and her special canine friend, Sophie.
Martha will be dearly missed by her husband of 57 years, Dr. J.W. Koch of Holcombe; children, Sara (Mitch) Kaiser of Chippewa Falls, Patricia "Patti" Edblom of Wausau and Dave (Sharon) Koch of Unity, Wis. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Shannon Palmerton, Justin Edblom, Jessica Thomsen, Sara Meyers, Andi Koch, Scott Koch, Bobbi Wagner, Hanna Kaiser and Mitch Kaiser; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Marietta Wilhelm of El Paso, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harold Wilhelm; and a granddaughter, Penni Koch.
