Vanderhoof, Leon Charles (1 July 1908 - 23 July 1944)

Leon Charles Vanderhoof, formerly of Colby, Wisconsin, died at St. Paul Sunday night at the age of 36 years and 22 days, a heart attack being the cause of his death. Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon, July 27th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery. Rev. G. E. Griffiths, pastor of the Abbotsford Presbyterian church, will officiate.

Mr. Vanderhoof was born at Medford, July 1, 1908, later moving to Milan, where he attended the public schools. In 1926 his family moved to Colby, where he was employed at the Olson cheese factory. He was married to Catherine Erickson at Chippewa Falls on July 11, 1936. In 1941 they moved to Wausau, and in 1943 to St. Paul, where he was employed as a refrigerator repair man.

Surviving are his wife; three children, Joyce, Gloria and Wanda; his father, Joel Vanderhoof of Colby; four sisters, Mrs. Clarence Olson of Colby, Mrs. Terrance Collins of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Jack Wagner of St. Paul and Mrs. Walter Stabnow of Colby, Wis.

His mother, whose maiden name was Irene Van Slett, preceded him in death.
