Kliefoth, Dale (24 July 1924 - 29 July 1944)
Pvt. Dale Kliefoth, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Kliefoth of Abbotsford, was killed in France while in action on July 29th, according to word received by his parents Wednesday. Previously, he had been reported missing.
Pvt. Kliefoth received his army training at Camp Butner, N. C., where he was a truck driver in an infantry unit. While training in this country, Pvt. Kliefoth had three furloughs, the first, in July 1943, at the time of his birthday, then another at Christmas time. During the Easter holiday in 1944 he received the third furlough.
In May 1944 Pvt. Kliefoth was sent overseas and landed in England. He was there but a short time and then sent to France.
Surviving are his parents and three younger brothers, all at home.
