Dunbar, Alice (Marriage - 30 June 1945)
Miss Alice Dunbar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Dunbar of Stratford, Wis., and Harold Kobs, son of Mrs. Marie Kobs of Colby, were united in marriage in a ceremony performed Saturday, June 30th, at 2:30 P.M., in the Immanuel Lutheran church in Marshfield, Wis., Rev. G.M. Krueger reading the marriage ceremony. Miss Ruth Dunbar, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Miss Selma Kobs, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Lee Dunbar, cousin of the bride, and Arnold Dunbar, brother of the bride.
The bride was attired in a gown of white satin with long train, long veil and also blusher veil with lace bottom. Her bouquet consisted of carnations and roses. The maid of honor wore a dress of blue taffeta and velvet trim, blusher veil to match. Her colonial bouquet consisted of snap dragons, mixed colors, and ferns. The bridesmaid wore a dress of rose taffeta with velvet trim, blusher veil to match. Her colonial bouquet also consisted of snap dragons, mixed colors, and ferns. The bride’s mother and the groom’s mother wore dresses of navy blue and both wore corsages of roses and carnations.
A reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents, the home being nicely decorated with bouquets of cut flowers for the occasion. In the evening, a wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion at Colby, Wis.
Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Dunbar and family of Waupaca, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dunbar and family, Norman Dunbar and Lee Dunbar of Weyauwega, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Woytasek and family, Mrs. Mary Woytasek and Fred Holtman of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Holtman and family of Fenwood, Harold Holtman of Rozellville, Lenhardt Dommer of Unity, Mrs. Marie Kobs, Norman and Edna Kobs of Colby, Wis. The newlyweds will reside in Marshfield where both the bride and the groom are employed by the Central Cheese Co.
