Weix, Irma Gertrude (Marriage - 2 Aug. 1945)
Miss Irma Gertrude Weix, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Weix of Colby, and Lyle John Kilty of Unity, exchanged marriage vows at the St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby on Thursday, August 2nd, Rev. F. Bienkowski reading the marriage ceremony. Miss Patricia Weix, sister of the bride, and Janet Frome were the bridesmaids and the groom was attended by Frank Carpenter of Abbotsford and Leonard Weix, brother of the bride.
The bride was attired in a gown of brocaded marquisette over satin, princess fitted and train, with long sleeves and sweetheart neckline. She also wore a gold locket, a gift of the groom. Her bouquet consisted of roses and gladiolas. Miss Patricia Weix wore a pink dress of net over taffeta and blusher veil. Miss Frome wore a blue dress of net over taffeta with blusher veil. Bouquets of both bridesmaids consisted of mixed flowers. The bride’s mother wore a blue crepe dress and a bouquet of roses. The groom’s mother wore a dark blue crepe dress and a bouquet of roses.
A reception was given at the home of the groom’s parents, the home being nicely decorated with blue, white and pink streamers and a three-tier wedding cake. In the evening, a wedding dance was held at the Wiedenhoeft pavilion.
Seventy-five relatives and guests were served supper. Guests from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kilty and family, Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Kilty, Mr. and Mrs. Don Kilty, Mrs. Harvey Gottschalk and son, Jerry, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kattson, all of Unity, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Kilty, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Tamborino and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tamborino, all of Edgar, Mr. and Mrs. August Schumacher of Fenwood, Mrs. Leo Terasinski of Athens, Miss Lorraine Tamborino of Chicago, Miss Inez Tamborino of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Weix of Curtiss, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schuh of Curtiss and Frank Carpenter of Abbotsford, Wis.
The bride is a graduate of Colby, Wis. High School, class of 1945.
After a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin, the couple will be at home after August 15th on the groom’s farm west of Unity, Wis.
