Schulz, Minera (Marriage - 8 Dec. 1945)
Candlelight illumined the Zion Evangelical Lutheran church Saturday, December 8th, at 4:00 p.m., when Minera Schulz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernst W. Schulz, town of Colby, became the bride of Maynard R. Bauer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholaus Bauer of Fond du Lac, Wis. Rev. O. Hoffmann officiated at the double ring ceremony. Mr. Lutz as organist, and Mrs. W. Tesmer accompanied Mr. W. Tesmer with two solos, "O Perfect Love," and "God Gave Me You."
The bride was given in marriage by her father and was attired in a white satin gown with a sweetheart neckline, long pointed sleeves and a long circular train. The fingertip veil was caught by a headpiece of orange blossoms. She wore a single strand of pearls, a gift of the groom. American beauty roses formed her bouquet.
Miss Elaine Schulz, Mrs. Lucille Brecker, and Miss Grace Schulz, sisters of the bride, acted as her attendants. The bodice of their gowns were black velvet with sweet heart necklines and three quarter length sleeves. The long, full skirts were of blue nylon satin. Their half hats were also of black velvet. Each wore a choker of pearls, gifts of the bride, and carried bouquets of white mums and American beauty roses, tied with red satin ribbons.
The groom chose Mr. Harry Braun as best man and Mr. Orlando Kind acted as usher, both being brothers-in-law of the groom.
A reception for the immediate families was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
The bride’s mother wore a black crepe dress and the groom’s mother a wine wool dress. Their corsages consisted of white mums and American beauty roses.
The bride has been employed with Square D Company in Milwaukee for several years and the groom was recently discharged from service.
The couple are making a trip to Illinois and southern parts of the state and plan to return to Fond du Lac.
Out of town people here for the wedding were Alida Feind of LaCrosse, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hise of Dixon, Ill., Mrs. L. Terrkier of Iron Mountain, Mich., Aleda Smith, Mr. and Mrs. H. Reickert, Irene and Verna Feind, Loretta Muekerkiedl, *** Note: The rest of the article was cut off and not available at the time of transcription.
