Sivertson, Ole (24 NOV 1872 - 23 MAY 1940)

Ole Sivertson, one of the pioneers of the Stanley country, passed away at his home on May 23, 1940, following a sixteen weeks illness of cancer. His patience at all times in the face of continuous and often severe suffering was thought to be remarkable by all those who came in contact with him. A great many people who have known trouble and sorrow will remember him as a kind benefactor.

Mr. Sivertson was born in Trondhjem, Norway on Nov. 24, 1872. He emigrated to America together with one sister, Anne (Mrs. Anne Haugen) in June 1892, coming to Menomonie. He lived there for eight years, and in 1900 he came to the Stanley country, where he has since made his home.

Surviving him are six nieces, Alma, Selma, Alice and Hilda Haugen, Anna Bye and Mrs. Selmer Samuelson, and four nephews, Phillip, Alvin and Jule Haugen, and Nels Bye. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Bye and Mrs. Anne Haugen, and one brother, John Sivertson.

The funeral services were held from Our Saviors Lutheran Church on Monday afternoon and interment was made in the evergreen Cemetery, north of Stanley. The pallbearers were: Nels Larson, Henry Hendrickson, Ed Karlen, Harry Boie, Martin Edwardson and Adolph Edwardson.
