A very pretty wedding took place at St. Hedwig’s Church at nine o’clock Wednesday morning, June 26th, 1940 when Rev. F.A. Kulig joined in the holy bonds of matrimony, Miss Martha Tomczak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Tomczak of the town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. Andrew Jasinski, son of Mrs. Rose Jasinski of the town of Reseburg (Clark Co.).
The bride was beautifully attired in a white slipper satin gown with a long train touched with Venetian lace and sweet heart neckline. She also wore a locket. Her long net veil was tulle edged in Venetian point lace with tiara of white beads. She carried a bouquet of white Easter lilies and baby breath entwined with white satin ribbon.
Miss Helen Tomczak, of Evanston, Ill., sister of the bride, and Helen Nendza were bridesmaids, and Lillian Tomczak, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.
Miss Helen Tomczak wore a rich pink silk gown trimmed with blue, with headband to match. Miss Nendza wore a rich yellow taffeta gown with headband and slippers to match. Lillian Tomczak wore a peach net gown with corded pattern touched with peach and aqua grosgrain. Her tiara was cluter of peach flowers. Their bouquets were of pink and white tea roses and with mixed flowers tied with ribbons to march their gowns.
The groom and his attendants, Charlie Jasinski, brother of the groom, and Ted Tomczak, brother of the bride, wore dark suits. The groom wore a white gardenias boutonniere and the best man and usher wore boutonnieres of white carnations.
A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents with about a hundred guests attending. Music was furnished by the Nightingales.
The newlyweds reside on the groom’s farm in the town of Reseburg. Best wishes of their friends are extended.
Guests from out of town attending the wedding were: Walter Goza and two daughters, Misses Lottie and Genevieve Goza, of Chicago, Ill., Miss Helen Tomczak of Evanston, Ill., and Mrs. Harriet Baseler and daughter Diane of Evanston, Ill., sister of the bride,, Mrs. Mary Glish of St. Paul, and Ted Tomczak of San Francisco, Calif., a brother of the bride.
