Slowiak, Mary (6 JUL 1940)
In a nine o’clock ceremony performed at St. Mary’s de Czestochowa Church at Stanley, Saturday morning, July 6, 1940, Rev. S. Andrzejewski joined in holy bonds of matrimony, Aloysius Dubicki, on of Mrs. Mary Macewicz, and Miss Mary Slowiak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Slowiak.
The bride wore a beautiful dress of white net with a long train and a matching veil. She carried gardenias and white sweet peas. Her bridesmaids were Frances Staron, Helen Jakus and Adelaide Staron. They were attired in white dotted Swiss formals. In their hair they wore roses and white streamers and carried bouquets of white carnations and pink roses.
The groom’s attendants were Charlie Cukla, Vincent Slowiak and John Twarowski. The ushers had carnations in their lapels while the groom had a gardenia. They all wore tuxedos.
A big reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents. Many out of town guests attended the affair. The newlyweds intend to make their home in Chicago. Their many friends and relatives truly and sincerely wish that their new venture will prove to be a long, happy and successful one.
