Harvey Barts

Harvey Barts, 83, Abbotsford, died Friday March 17, 2006, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2006, at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, Wis. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Colby, Wis. Father Paul Gitter will officiate.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Harvey was born Jan. 29, 1923, in Colby to Harvey and Anna (Kroeplin) Barts. Harvey and Mabel Schilling were married April 15, 1944. They farmed in the town of Colby before moving to Abbotsford, Wis. He also worked as a milk hauler for Welcome Dairy, Colby, Wis.

After retiring, he and his wife enjoyed traveling to Texas as snowbirds. He enjoyed camping, dancing and card playing.

Harvey is survived by his wife, Mabel Barts of Abbotsford; his children, Dave (Peggy Catan) Barts of Edgewater, Colo., and Audrey Boutain of Abbotsford; his grandchildren, Sharon (Alan Bliss) Cahoon of La Crosse, Robert Strobach of Stratford, Jeffrey Strobach of Rothschild and Michael (Jessica) Strobach of Colby; his great-grandchildren, Ashlie Cahoon of Viroqua, Damian Thundercloud of Viroqua, Jesse Stobach of Cumberland, Robert Strobach Jr. of Eau Claire, Chaz Strobach of Ellsworth, Emma Strobach of Wisconsin, Alexander Preece of Colby, Michael Strobach of Colby and Nicholas Strobach of Colby; three sisters, Lydia (Art) Weideman of Abbotsford, Gertrude (Earl) Schmidt of Wausau and Madeline Schreiber of Abbotsford, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Schreiber.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.
