Curtiss, Wis. - Aug. 2, 1945

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jakel announce the marriage of their daughter, Lt. Lucille Jakel, of the Army Nurse Corps to Lt. Paul Stiner of Oklahoma. The ceremony was performed at Camp Blanding, Florida, where the couple are stationed. The bride is a graduate of Owen High School and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Marshfield, with the class of 1944. She was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital until she entered service in March, 1945.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Laabs and sons and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Laabs and family of Milan returned on Sunday from a several days outing at their cottage at Lake Isadore.

Miss Velores Krueger of Chicago arrived here on Friday to spend her vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Koerner and brother, Cpl. Lester Krueger, who is home on furlough.

Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Laabs spent the week-end in Chicago where they met their son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Laabs, who came from San Diego, Calif., where Arthur has been in naval service the past two and one-half years. He has just received his discharge from the navy.

Mr. and Mrs. Emil Trester of Milwaukee are spending their vacation with relatives here.

Mrs. Minnie Green arrived home on Friday from a week’s outing at a Lutheran Bible Camp at Hatley, Wis. She was accompanied home by Mrs. Russel Wrolstad. Mr. Wrolstad, a former principal of schools here, is employed as government inspector at the Medford Camping Co. He spent the week-end with his wife and friends here.

Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Kraut were hosts to the Midway 4-H Club at a party in honor of their daughter, Betty Jean’s birthday on Monday evening.

S/lc Arthur Lee Lokken arrived home on Monday from the west coast to spend a leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Lokken. Arthur has served overseas for over a year.

Mrs. Elroy Krueger and son of Columbus, Wis., returned home on Friday after a six week’s visit with her husband’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Koerner.

Robert Green of LaCrosse was here for the funeral of his aunt, Mrs. Sarah Green, on Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. John Lokken spent Friday with the former’s mother.
