Abbotsford, Wis. - May 9, 1883

Mud.

Indications, more mud.

Mrs. Geo. Allen, we are glad to say, is convalescent.

Looks as though we are going to have a spell of weather.

Wonder if Vennor won’t tell us when the sun is going to shine.

Mrs. John Kalb has been very much indisposed for the last two weeks.

Mrs. John Herman has been very sick for the last week, but is getting along finely, now.

Mrs. Hildreth and son returned from Chicago, last week, looking glad and happy to get home.

Chas. Partridge took in Milwaukee, last week, and returned home on the Saturday evening train, looking as happy as a boy that had found something or was about to. Ha, Ha, Charles, you know how it is yourself. Keno.

This time it is a boom in building. Mr. Traust is building himself a new house, one story and a half high; Frank Cowan has the frame of his house up and partly sided; Mr. Thompson is repairing his house and putting on siding and when he gets it completed he will have the best looking house in our burgh.

The Wisconsin Central Company, under the supervision of Mr. Harris Superintendent of Bridges and Depot Buildings, are building a much needed addition to the Abbot House, and, giving the house a general overhauling, which, when completed, will give Bro. Hildreth room enough to swing himself and to accommodate the rapidly increasing trade of that popular house.
