Langjahr, Otto M. (29 Aug. 1865 - 1 May 1945)

Otto M. Langjahr died at the home of his son, Arvin Langjahr, at Riplinger Tuesday, May 1st, old age complications being the cause of his death. Funeral services were held Friday, May 4th, at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Rev. A. Almquist of the Trinity Lutheran church of Unity officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Theo. Dallmann, Wm. Domer, Martin Verkilen, Henry Miller, Roy Hardrath and Ernest Miller. Those in charge of the flowers were Irene and Doris Langjahr, Mrs. Marlin Evenson and Mrs. Servell Cook.

The deceased was born at Kiel, Wis., on August 29th, 1865, thus reaching the age of 79 years, eight months and five days. He was married to Miss Amelia Lulloff at Kiel, Wis., in 1893, to which union four children were born, two of whom, Oliver and Otis, preceded their parents in death. Mr. and Mrs. Langjahr came to Colby in 1900 and here Mr. Langjahr was engaged as tomb stone cutter for the Colby Marble Works. About 15 years ago, they moved to Riplinger. Mrs. Langjahr preceded her husband in death. Mr. Langjahr was an invalid for several years.

Surviving are Elmer Langjahr of Unity and Arvin Langjahr of Riplinger. Two sisters, Mrs. Louise Darllost of Kiel and Mrs. Bertha Biewernecht of Dixon, Neb., and one brother, Wm. Langjahr of Plymouth, Wis., also survive. There are seven grand children.

Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Lulloff of Kiel, Wm. Langjahr and Mrs. Oscar Langjahr of Plymouth, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Keemann of Mellen, Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Salter of Unity, Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Henke of Arpin and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Chuckhart of Prentice.
