There are some cases of scarlet fever in town, and parents are taking the greatest precautions against the exposure of their children to it. We hope it will spread no farther. It is confined to the families of Mr. Joseph Wicker and Mr. Wm. Hall.
Mr. Wicker’s two little ones died from the fatal disease after a very brief illness; we understand that little Annie is in a fair way to recover. The afflicted family has the deep sympathy of our citizens in their bereavement, and such sympathy would, without doubt, in many instances, be shown by acts of neighborly kindness, if people were not so much afraid of spreading the disease in their own families.
*** Note: The names of the Wicker sons are from the 1880 U.S. Federal Census, Hixon, Clark County, Wisconsin and the birth information is from the Colby Memorial Cemetery Index.
