GREENWOOD -- Alva Vincent "Al" McGlone, 82, of Greenwood, formerly of Royal Oak, Mich., died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at his home.

There will be no services held. Cuddie Funeral Home of Greenwood is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born Dec. 18, 1923, in Munising, Mich., to Harold and Cora (Van) McGlone. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force following his 1941 graduation from high school. He married Careta J. Alsup on Sept. 7, 1942, in Pontiac, Mich. She predeceased him on Oct. 31, 2005. After his honorable discharge, he worked as a chemical engineer at Reichhold Chemical Co. in Ferndale, Mich. He retired in 1989 and moved to Kenton, Mich., where he owned and operated the Ferrellgas Company until 1999.

He and his wife moved to Greenwood in 2000. He is survived by his daughter, Vicki (Daniel) Santti, Greenwood, and four grandchildren.
