THORP -- Alfred Leo Baldeschwiler, 89, of Thorp died Monday, April 24, 2006, at Oakbrook Health and Rehabilitation in Thorp.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born Nov. 11, 1916, in Thorp to Anton and Minnie (Pritzel) Baldeschwiler. He married Grace Kinney on June 7, 1939, at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church. He farmed and owned his business, Alfred's Sales and Service, until selling them in 1972. He bought a hobby farm near Thorp until moving in 1977 to Lake Wissota. He then was employed at Darley Pump in Chippewa Falls, retiring in 1982. His wife, Grace, died Sept. 18, 1982. He married Dorothy Romanowski in November 1983.
He is survived by his daughters, Lila McEwen, Chugiak, Alaska, Ellen Zaborowski and Alfretta (Jim) Danielewicz, all of Minong; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
