Abbotsford, Wis. -- Ray V. Anderson 84, Abbotsford, died Thursday May 4, 2006, in the Emergency Room of Saint Joseph's Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2006, at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, Wis. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Neumann will officiate.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the church.
Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Ray was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Withee to Clarence and Esther (Outcelt) Anderson. Ray and Lois Stock were married April 10, 1947, at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, Wis. They farmed until 1965. Ray was an independent insurance agent for 44 years and a Registered Securities Representative for 24 years in the Colby and Abbotsford area. He was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church where he served as president and on various boards. He served as a Clark County supervisor from 1992 to 2002, was a past member of the Colby Lions Club serving as president, and past member of the Colby and Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce, he served as president of McMillan-Warner Mutual Insurance Company for 18 years and a board member for 36 years.
He enjoyed making wood, hunting, golf, bowling, cards and traveling.
Ray is survived by his wife, Lois of Abbotsford; his children, Paula (Larry) Mader of Abbotsford and Neal Anderson of Abbotsford; two grandchildren, Angela (John) Miller of Dorchester and Anthony (Melanie) Mader of Elmwood; three great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Miller, Jacob Miller, and Tyrone Mader; and one sister, Nora (Leonard) Shulta of Schofield.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
