Melanczuk, Ludwika (15 DEC 1865 - 15 DEC 1940)

Last rites were conducted by Rev. Jos. Rapala at St. Stanislaus Church at Lublin, Wednesday morning at ten o’clock for Mrs. Ludiwka Melanczuk who passed away of heart disease at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Garfield Piwoni in the Town of Taft (Taylor Co., Wis.), Sunday, Dec. 15, 1940.

The deceased was born in Warsaw, Poland on Dec. 15, 1865 and had reached the age of 75 years on the eve of her death. She arrived in America in 1901 and came directly to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), settling on a farm in the town of Thorp. Her husband, Julius Melanczuk, died some years ago.

She leaves to mourn one son, Louis of Chicago; four daughters, Valeria, Mrs. John Deutschlander, Alice, Mrs. Garfield Piwoni of Thorp, Minnie, Mrs. Joseph Bona, and Bernice, Mrs. George Weseman, of Chicago.; twenty grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Interment was made in the parish cemetery at Lublin. Pallbearers were: Emil, Edward and Henry Deutschlander, Joseph, John and Marvin Piwoni, all grandsons.
