Miss Irene Walter, daughter of Mrs. Margaret Walter, formerly of this city (Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis.), was united in marriage at Wausau Saturday. The following account of the wedding is taken from the Wausau Record Herald.
A pretty wedding was solemnized at 8:00 o’clock Saturday morning at St. James Catholic Church by the Rev. H.W. McGuire when Miss Irene Walter, daughter of Mrs. Margaret Walter, 422 North Sixth Avenue, became the bride of Aloys A. Wayker of this city. Ray Walter, brother of the bride, and Miss Marion Durand of this city attended the couple.
The bride was dressed in a gold metallic and pencil blue flat crepe dress and carried a bouquet of roses, babies breath and orange blossoms. The bridesmaid was dressed in old rose georgette with a picture hat to match and carried roses, sweet peas and babies breath.
A wedding breakfast was served at the Crystal Café and in the evening a reception to relatives and immediate friends was held at the home of the bride’s mother, following a six o’clock dinner.
The bride is a teacher of the Craig School in the town of Hamburg, and at the close of school, the couple will take a trip to Milwaukee, Kenosha and Chicago. They will make their home in this city, the bridegroom being employed as manager of a department store on Scott Street.
