Schraufnagel, Dennis (12 July 1946 - 29 Nov. 2007)
Dennis Schraufnagel, 61, Edgar, died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the House of the Dove, Marshfield.
The funeral mass was held December 3, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Norman Boneck presided with burial in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Edgar, with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Sawyer-Drumm Post #393, Edgar.
Dennis was born July 12, 1946 in Owen to Cletus Schraufnagel and the late Anna Marie (Hanson) Schraufnagel.
On October 7, 1972, he married Susan Mateofsky in Ashland, she survives.
Dennis was a graduate of UW-River Falls and was a veteran of the US Army.
For 25 years, he taught Ag. Education and was a mentor at Edgar High School and also worked for the Bank of Edgar as a loan officere for three years.
Dennis was an active member of St. John’s Catholic Church and taught CCD classes for several years. He was a lifetime member of the FFA Alumni, a member of the Edgar Lions Club and the American Legion Sawyer-Drumm Post #393, Edgar.
Among his many interests were hunted, fishing, gardening and making maple syrup.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Susan Schraufnagel, Edgar; four sons, Greg (Andrea) Schraufnagel, New Brighton, MN, David (Jamie) Schraufnagel, Edgar, Paul (Corissa) Schraufnagel, Wausau, and Jon Schraufnagel, Edgar; three grandchildren; his father Cletus (Maryjo) Schraufnagel, Colby; and five siblings, Carol (Steve) Luther, Colby, Terry (Fay) Schraufnagel, Colby, Mary (Rod) Umlauft, Stetsonville, and Joan (Gene) Peissig, Abbotsford, Wis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to set up future scholarship funds for students.
Peterson-Kramer Funeral Home, Edgar, assisted the family with arrangements.
