Apfelbeck, Bernice (Marriage - 17 June 1946)
Miss Bernice Apfelbeck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Apfelbeck of Colby, and Mr. Jack Trombley of St. Petersburg, Florida, were united in marriage on Monday, June 17th, 1946, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. N. B. Beschta reading the marriage ceremony. Rosemary Apfelbeck, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor and Miss Violet Stillman of Chicago was the bridesmaid. The groom was attended by the bride’s brothers, Leon Apfelbeck of Chicago and Claude Apfelbeck of Colby, Wis.
The bride’s gown was of white satin top, skirt of net over satin with appliqué work on top and skirt, long veil, lace edge and lace appliqué on the train. She also wore a pair of two-stranded pearls, a gift of the groom, and an old, borrowed blue turquoise ring, borrowed from the bridesmaid, Violet Stillman. Her bouquet consisted of pink roses and stephenatis. The maid of honor and the bridesmaid were attired in identical gowns of blue marquisette with net hats with long ribbons in back and also wore pearl ear rings, a gift of the bride. Their wrist bouquets consisted of pink roses and stephenatis. The bride’s mother wore a navy blue dress with a bouquet of red roses.
A reception for 150 guests was given at the home of the bride, the home being decorated with blue and white streamers with large wedding bells. A dance was given in the evening at the Trianon Gardens. Music was furnished by Jack Kolbuk and his orchestra of Marshfield.
The couple will be at home after June 29th at 940 Laurence Ave., Apt. 307, Chicago 4, Ill. The groom is attending G.I. school in Chicago.
Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. John Kwosigroch and son and daughter, Jack and Marilyn, Leon Apfelbeck, Miss Violet Stillman and Mrs. Mae Amundson, all of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Math Gendt of Boyd, Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Berchume, Tom Reynelds, and Ray Joedis of Dorchester, Mr. and Mrs. John Kulas and family, Mrs. Ray Hummer and Margaret Diers of Athens.
