Stevens, Ella (2 OCT 1851 - 28 NOV 1940)

Funeral services were held last Wednesday at 2:00 P. M. at the Nichols Funeral Home for Mrs. Ella Stevens, Rev. Beck from Belle Plaines, Minn., a close friend of the family had charge of the service, and burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Ella E. Boyer was born October 2, 1851 at Canton, Ohio. She passed away November 28, 1940 at the home of her daughter Mrs. O. W. Lundgren at Port Wing, Wis., at the age of 89 years, 1 month, and 7 days.

On October 21, 1869 she was united in marriage to Simon Stevens at Plymouth, Wis. Mr. and Mrs. Stevens lived on a farm in Spokeville for about 46 years. Mr. Stevens preceded his wife in death in 1915.

Two children blessed this union, one daughter, Laura Lundgren of Port Wing, Wis., and one son Clifford who preceded his mother in death in 1923. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Lundgren, 4 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great great grand daughter. Also one sister Malissa Haden of Bruce, Wis.

Frank Luchterhand, Gust Voight, Ed. Haslow, Carl Gerdes, J. R. Thomas and August Witt acted as pallbearers.

Close relatives who were present at the funeral were her daughter, four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Those who attended the funeral from away were Mrs. O. W. Lundgren, Mrs. Almond Lundgren, Miss Ethel Lundgren and Carl Vernon Dahlstedt from Port Wing, Mrs. Russell Krause, Milwaukee, Mr. Lynn Lundgren and son Johnny Lundgren, Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Cole, Marshfield, Miss Mary Hanson and J. R. Thomas, Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Bowman, Owen, Will Schoch and Miss Lyla Schoch and Mr. Henry Rossman, Thorp, and Mr. and Mrs. William Schmidtke, Granton.
