Luedtke, Betty Jane (Marriage - 30 Nov. 1946)
Miss Betty Jane Luedtke of Curtiss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Luedtke of Marathon, and Delmer Augustine, son of Mr. and Mrs.Albert Augustine of Colby, exchanged marriage vows in the St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church of Green Grove on Saturday, Nov. 30th, at 2:30 P.M., Rev. M. C. Goetsch reading the marriage ceremony. Mrs. Goetsch was organist and played the accompaniment for Mrs. Miller who sang, "Be Our Guide" and "The Lord’s Prayer." Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Augustine of Colby, brother and sister in law of the groom. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Uttech of Curtiss, brother in law and sister of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Augustine of Unity, brother and sister in law of the groom, Miss Lucille and Norman Augustine, sister and brother of the groom, Mrs. Delos Roeder of Wausau, a cousin of the bride, Miss Doraine Mandel of Colby, Ramona Roeder of Wausau, another cousin, and Jack Uttech, a nephew.
The bride wore a white net over taffeta gown styled with a shirred bodice with long sleeves, and a full skirt ending in a train. A crown of pearls held her long veil edged with wide lace and she carried a shower bouquet of white carnations and red roses.
Mrs. Marvin Augustine, matron of honor, wore aqua net over satin. The bridesmaids, Mrs. Uttech and Mrs. Elroy Augustine, wore pink and yellow net over taffeta dresses, respectively. Miss Augustine was attired in a long dress of pale pink satin made with bracelet length sleeves. Matching headdresses completed their ensembles and corsages of pink and white carnations were pinned to their shoulders.
Mrs. Roeder and Miss Mandel in white net and taffeta frocks, ushered. They wore pink and white carnations in their hair.
Ramona, acting as flower girl, wore a long white ruffled gown and a wreath of white flowers with a blushed veil. She carried a shower bouquet of sweet peas and carnations. Jack, dressed in long brown trousers and a white linen coat, carried the ring on a calla lily.
Following the ceremony, dinner was served to 60 people in the church basement and later a reception took place.
The bride attended the Loyal and Wausau High Schools. Her husband is a cheesemaker and they will reside on route 2 near Colby, Wis. Mr. Augustine served in World War II.
Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilbur Cadott, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Huehnerfuss, Hamburg; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Boukart, Marathon; Mr. and Mrs. Julius Huehnerfuss, Vernon and Vergene, Mr. and Mrs. Delos Roeder and Ramont, of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wilde, Edgar; Ernest Augustine, St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs.Alfred Burkart and Ben of Thorp.
