Unity, Wis. - May 16, 1946
The senior class of the Unity, Wis. High School presented its class play, "Girls Are Like That," a three-act comedy at the village hall Wednesday evening, May 8th. The play relayed the troubles of a modern young girl and her wealthy aunt. Those taking part were Elaine Aylar, Darlene Molle, Delores Martens, Lorna Redetzke, Betty Potz, Edward Winkler, Robert Nelson, Elaine Landwehr, Paul Olson.
Edgar Josephine, employed at Johnson’s garage, had the misfortune to smash a finger on his left and it was necessary to have it dressed at the Colby Clinic.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schade of Milwaukee were called here because of the death of the former’s father, Bernard Schade of Colby, and visited Mrs. Schade’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonhard Nickel.
Mrs. Oscar Carlson underwent a major operation at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Steward Salter and family of Milwaukee spent several days with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Salter, in the town of Brighton.
Albert Dehn was discharged from service and is visiting at the home of his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Dehn.
Mrs. Albert Lavernenz has returned from a visit in Chicago at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Kennedy.
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Erickson, both recently discharged from the service, are spending some time with Otto Erickson and son, Paul. Mr. Erickson served four years with the Marines and Mrs. Erickson served 18 months in the WAVES.
Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Mais made a business trip to St. Louis last week.
Mrs. Gib Wiedenhoeft stayed with Mrs. O. W. Carlson at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital several days.
