Curtiss, Wis. - July 11, 1946
The Ladies Aid of the Evangelical Lutheran church will meet for their annual picnic on the lawn of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Maki. The west-side ladies will be the hostesses.
F. W. Laabs returned home on Friday from Rochester, Minn., where he has been a patient at the Mayo Clinic the past three weeks.
Miss Bertha Kraut and Miss Marie Kraut attended the wedding of the former’s nephew, Eugene Kraut, to Miss Maurine LaScottie at St. Agnes Catholic church at St. Paul on Saturday, July 6th, at 10:00 o’clock.
John Arneson returned to Minneapolis on Tuesday after spending several days at the Henry Peterson and Johnson Bros. homes.
Mr. and Mrs. Harley Hoff of Wausau spent the 4th of July holidays with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Hoff. They all spent the 4th with Mr. and Mrs. Louis Boardman and family at Thorp.
Mrs. Chas. Hanna, a former resident of this place, visited with Mrs. Augusta Strade at the home of her son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Strade, the latter part of the week.
Mr. and Mrs. Roland Sonnetag and family of Leona spent the 4th of July week-end with Mr. and Mrs. John Michlig. The two ladies are sisters.
Miss Ethel Erickson returned to Minneapolis on Sunday after a ten-day vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Erickson.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Klein and daughters of Waupaca called on friends at Midway on Friday.
Richard Boehm of Detroit, Mich., visited at the homes of his brothers, Joe, Oscar and Frank Heibsch, over the week-end.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Laabs had open house on Friday evening in honor of Mrs. Laabs’ son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Botterud of Washington, D.C., who had been their guests the past 10 days.
