Edward J. Stroinski
THORP -- Edward J. Stroinski, 82, of Thorp, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday, both at the Thorp Funeral Home.
Edward Joseph Stroinski was born Aug. 9, 1925, in Chicago, to Joseph J. and Wally C. (Ogurek) Stroinski. He was united in marriage Oct. 23, 1948, to Irene Pokeritz, at St. Mary's Polish National Catholic Church, Lublin. Irene preceded him in death in 1998.
During the years, he worked at various jobs, including Crane's Feedmill, Thorp Flour & Feed, O&N Lumber Co., Thorp Lumber Co., and Larson's Feedmill, in addition to operating his 40-acre dairy farm.
He is survived by his four children, Edie (Edward) Nowicki of Madison, Judy (Stephen) Nowicki of Nekoosa, Daniel (Peggy) Stroinski of Thorp, and Allen Stroinski of Thorp; one stepdaughter, Suzanne (Robert) Smith of Daytona Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
