Harry R. Badzinski

THORP -- Harry R. Badzinski, 90, of Thorp died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at Oakbrook Health and Rehabilitation in Thorp.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church. Burial will take place at a later date in New St. Hedwig's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

He was born Sept. 5, 1917, in the town of Reseburg to Walter and Myrtle (Kubera) Badzinski. He served with the U.S. Army from 1941 to June 4, 1945, in Africa, Italy and France. He married Margaret Komanec on July 18, 1945, at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church. He worked as a carpenter for many years before forming North Central Construction Co. with Pete Smoczyk. He retired in 1980.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Badzinski of Thorp; four children, Magdalen (Richard) Kodl of Thorp, William (Mary) Badzinski of Stanley, Virginia "Ginger" (Daniel) Nieuwenhuis of Mosinee, and Christine "Tina" (Gary) Ebben of Sun Prairie; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Valentina (Edmund) Krych of Richfield, Minn.
