Syth, Ruby Ellen (5 March 1905 - 17 Dec. 2007) Ruby Syth

NEILLSVILLE -- Ruby Syth, 102, of Neillsville, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville, Wis.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Neillsville, Wis. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Greenwood, Wisconsin. The family will greet friends and relatives one hour prior to service time Thursday at the church.

Ruby Ellen Eisentraut was born March 5, 1905, in Neillsville, the daughter of Alvin and Rose (Ruege) Eisentraut. She taught at the Mound School south of Christie, then at the Eaton Center south of Greenwood, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage in 1925 to Arnold Syth. He preceded her in death.

They lived on the family farm south of Greenwood, and Ruby took time off of teaching to raise their family. Later, they moved to Neillsville, where Ruby taught first grade for many years.

She is survived by her children, Shirley (Earl) Caliebe of Greenwood and George (Edith) Syth of Eau Claire; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. She is also survived by a sister, Helen Hemp of Rochester, Minn.

Gesche Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
