Tess P. Peters

APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. -- Tess P. Peters, 90, of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of Ironwood, Mich., and Colby, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at her home in Apache Junction.

Tess was born in Bloomburg, Texas, a daughter of the late Philip and Maruin (McKnight) Pillow. She worked at Grandview Hospital in Ironwood, Mich., as its gift shop manager for 12 years and also at Marshfield Clinic, in Marshfield, as a patient counselor.

Tess was a member of various organizations including The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Colonial Dames. She was a member of the VFW Post No. 9399 Ladies Auxiliary in Apache Junction.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph, with whom she would have celebrated 35 years of marriage Dec. 20, 2007; a son, Richard (Pat) Pillow of Ventura, Calif., and their son, Keith; and her daughter-in-law, Diane Lukowicz.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Leo "Luke" Lukowicz in 1966 and a son, Joseph Lukowicz in 1989.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Tess will be buried in Colby, Wisconsin.

Local arrangements were entrusted to Apache Junction Mortuary, 398 Old West Highway, Apache Junction, Ariz. 85219.

Memorials in her name may be designated to Alzheimer's Association or to the Marshfield Clinic Research Foundation.
