Anthony 'Tony' Beck
COLBY -- Anthony "Tony" Beck, 80, died on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, at the Colonial Center in Colby, Wisconsin.
Funeral services for Tony will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby, Wisconsin. Services will be officiate by the Rev. Woodrow Pace.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, with a combined parish and Knights of Columbus rosary service at 7 p.m. at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford, Wisconsin. There will also be a visitation an hour before the service begins at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Anthony Joseph Beck was born March 21, 1927, in Dorchester, the son of Albert and Caroline (Hutter) Beck. He was a graduate of Dorchester High School. On May 30, 1950, Tony and the former Alice Marie Kleparski were united in marriage. She died Feb. 28, 2006. They farmed in the town of Hull and Tony also was a Colby rural mail carrier. He was formerly employed with the Abbotsford Lamont Service Station, was in sales for the Catholic Family Life Insurance, and was a member of the Dorchester branch CFLI. Tony served as the treasurer of the town of Hull, an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was an avid fisherman and snowmobiler and enjoyed motorcycle touring with Alice and friends, and sharing good times playing his concertina in Tony's Rhythm Band.
Tony will be dearly missed by his children, Daniel (Lynn) Beck of Phillips, Richard (Fran) Beck of Westminster, Colo., and Susan (Lance) Mews of Marshfield; three brothers, Albert Beck of Waukesha, James (Betty) Beck of Stetsonville, and Myron (Betty) Beck of Stevens Point; two sisters, Beulah Poskie of Rhinelander and Betty Marolt of Aspen, Colo.; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
Tony is preceded in death by his wife, Alice; and one sister, Carolyn Hazen.
Maurina/Community Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
