Brill, John (2 Oct. 1886 - 8 Mar. 1946)
John Brill, who had been in poor health the past six years, died suddenly Friday afternoon of a heart attack at his farm home in the town of Hull at the age of 59 years. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at 9:30 o’clock at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.
Pall bearers were Dr. A. L. Schemmer, E. J. Feit, I. M. Firnstahl, Peter Apfelbeck, Ed Becker and Raymond Berg. Those in charge of the flowers were Frances Brill, Theresa Brill, Shirley Brill, Agnes Brill and Betty Berg.
Mr. Brill was born in the town of Hull on Oct. 2, 1886, and was married on June 18, 1918, to Rose Thorn. He lived on his farm in the town of Hull all his life.
Surviving are his wife and five children - Mrs. Mary Ann Bailey of Colby, Leona of Colby, Deloras of Wausau, John Jr., of Colby and Betty Jane of Colby, Wisconsin. Also one grand child and three brothers - Theodore of Colby, Joseph of Menomonie Falls and Matt of Marathon City. One daughter, Genevieve, and one brother, William, preceded him in death.
Mr. Brill was treasurer for the Roselawn Cheese Factory for 30 years, a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and Holy Name Society, a good Christian, honest in all his dealings, and being of a friendly disposition, was well-liked by all who knew him.
Out of town people here for the funeral were Joe Brill of Menomonie Falls, Matt Thorn of Jackson, Mich., Henry Baures of Fountain City, Mrs. Ray Rifenberg, Mrs. Rose Thorn, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Weetz and John Bailey, all of Milwaukee, Theo. Hennes, George Hennes, Mrs. Schultes, Mrs. Schickert, Mrs. Keupper, all of Richfield, B. J. Chulik of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Brill of Marathon City, Mrs. Alex Brill, Marcella Brill, Frances Brill and M. Kamke of Wausau, Theresa Brill of Stevens Point, John Hennes, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Weber, Phillip Weber, Mike Redig of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hennes and son, Sylvester, Mrs. Barbara Brill, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hennes, Alex Sturmn of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. John Eisinger, Mr. and Mrs. John Weyer of Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Duellman, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Duellman, Mrs. Oscar Seidel and Mr. and Mrs. John Kiefer and son of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hollman and Frank Duellman of Dorchester, Wisconsin.
