Schmidt, Billy (1939 - 22 Nov. 1946)
Billy Schmidt, seven year old son of Dr. and Mrs. E. J. Schmidt of Abbotsford, Wisconsin, died Friday morning at the Wisconsin General Hospital at Madison, the result of polio. Funeral services were held on Monday morning at St. Bernard’s Catholic church in Abbotsford and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.
Pall bearers were W. G. Danielson, Floyd Roth, Roland Roth, G. Charlesworth. The body had been lying in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby, Wisconsin.
Billy is survived by his parents, a one year old sister, Karen, by his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Roth of Colby, and by his paternal grand parents at Athens.
The death of Billy, who was taken to Madison on October 25, brings to 39 the number of known polio deaths in Wisconsin since Jan. 1, the State Board of Health reported.
