Hainz, Florence (July 24, 1914 - December 23, 2007)
Florence Hainz, age 93, of Neillsville, Wisconsin, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville where she resided since September 2003.
Florence Hainz was born on July 24, 1914 in Necedah, WI, the daughter of John and Martha (Kransky) Boldt. They moved to Lindsey, then to Indiana and settled in Neillsville in 1926. Florence attended the Carlyle school through the 8th grade and graduated from Neillsville High School in 1933. On June 29, 1937, she married Edward Hainz at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. They farmed in the town of Grant into the 70’s. They continued to live on their farm until 1990 when they moved to Neillsville.
Florence loved playing cards and was a member of the Town of Grant Sheepshead Club. She also loved gardening, growing her African Violets and cooking, especially baking delicious pies.
She was also a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Helena’s Circle and the PCCW.
Florence is survived by her children, Marjorie Becker, of Neillsville; Jean (Greg) Tomac, of Eau Claire; Larry (Betty) Hainz, of Eau Claire; and Janet (Jerry) Horswill, of Marshfield. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Sally Ann Becker, of Kenosha, WI; Brenda (Kevin) Cunningham, of Racine; Tom (Carrie) Tomac, of Jackson, FL; Pam (Lyle) Haigh, of Rochester, MN; Corry (Andrea) Tomac, of Eau Claire; Heather (Kim) Braun, of Maple Grove, MN; Holly (Joel) Prellwitz, of Scarboro, Maine; Ryan (Jamie) Horswill, of Auburndale; Raquel (Nate) Bennington, of Marshfield; Renee (Wayne) Phillips, of Appleton; and Reed Horswill, of Marshfield; seven great-grandchildren; and one niece and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Marie Meier; a brother, John Boldt; and a son-in-law, Conrad Becker.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Florence was held Friday, December 29, 2007, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Very Reverend Woodrow H. Pace officiated. Providing music was Ronald Resong, organist and St. Mary’s Choir. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Neillsville.
The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville assisted with Florence’s arrangements.
