Mandel, Oorine (Marriage - 25 Sept. 1947)
Miss Oorine Mandel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mandel, and Jerome Micklig, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Micklig of Curtiss, were united in marriage Thursday, September 25, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic church at Abbotsford, Rev. Francis Brockman reading the marriage ceremony. Miss Mary Ann Micklig, sister of the groom, was maid of honor and Mrs. Lavern Micklig, sister in law of the groom, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by John Kobs, cousin of the bride, and Lavern Micklig, the groom’s brother.
The bride was attired in a gown of white satin with sweetheart neckline and long sleeves edged in lace around the waist. The skirt was full with illusion of lace which fell with a graceful train. Her fingertip veil was edged with lace. Her bouquet consisted of roses. The maid of honor wore a dress of blue taffeta with off the shoulder neckline, short puff sleeves, gathered skirt with bustle back. She wore roses in her hair. The bridesmaid wore a rose taffeta dress, styled the same as the maid of honor’s and also wore roses in her hair.
A reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents which was decorated with rose, white and blue streamers. A three-tier wedding cake centered the table. In the evening, a dance was given at Walter’s pavilion.
