The layout of the term Echtershagen, Saxon Gotha, Germany may not be completly correct. The obit was done in 1894 and many were not too terribly interested 'correctness.' Germany did not become official until 1871.
My surname family came from Herzogtum Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha. Herzogtum meaning 'duchy' Saxon meaning Sachsen/Saxony' and Gotha being one of the principal cities of the duchy. The exact location of Echteshagen would have to be googled for an exact location. Who-ever did the interview for the obit published in the Colby Tribune would have collected the information.
I am indirectly 'shirt-tailed' into the Meyers family via my Schulte family tree. I also remember the Hemmy and Plutte surnames from doing St. Paul's Cemetery Index.
