The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran congregation of Curtiss: William Jakel and Rheinhardt Klocke, elders; Arthur Tonn and Fred Miller, trustees; Bernard Jakel, treasurer; Rev. Goetsch, secretary.
Mrs. Henry Heinzel of Vancouver, Ore., arrived here on Wednesday to visit her sisters, Mrs. Helga Knight and Mrs. A. E. Stadler. She had spent Christmas with her daughter in Louisville, Ky.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hermanson returned to their home at Plymouth, Ind., after having spent the holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Hermanson and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jakel.
A son was born on Jan. 3rd to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buss at Victory Hospital, Stanley.
Mrs. Hattie Johnson and daughter, Geraldine, of Chicago, spent several days during the holidays with her daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. LaRoy Brathwaite.
A. E. Stadler of Hoard, who was elected assemblyman from this district, left on Tuesday for Madison when the state legislature convened.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jakel and son, Dennis, and daughter, Beatrice, returned home on New Year’s Day from a three weeks’ visit with their daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Steiner, at Kingfisher, Okla.
The Women’s Missionary Society of the Christian Alliance church will meet with Mrs. Minnie Green on Friday, Jan. 10th.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Laabs entertained a party of friends on Sunday evening to celebrate the latter’s birthday.
F. W. Laabs, who has been a patient at St. Joseph’s hospital, at Marshfield the past three weeks, returned home on Wednesday.
Arthur Lee Lokken and Billy Jakel returned to their school at Milwaukee on Sunday after having spent the holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Lokken, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Jakel.
The Misses Minnie and Esther Thompson returned to Milwaukee on Sunday after having spent the holidays at their home here.
Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Halverson on Christmas Day were Mrs. Carolyn Baumgart and daughter, Janice, of Vesper, Wis., Henry Halverson, Hughie Seefeldt, Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Junker and daughter of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pethers and son, Mrs. Alice Knowlton and son, Lester, Billy Sims of Owen, Mr. and Mrs. *** Note: The remainder of this article was missing.
