Mrs. M. C. Prine returned from the Wisconsin General Hospital at Madison.
Mrs. Robert Steger and baby girl were dismissed from the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lukowicz of Texas have arrived in Colby to make their home here.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Allmann at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital Monday, April 28th.
Roger Staffeil was at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital several days where he underwent an operation on his nose.
A daughter was born to Dr. and Mrs. Frank A. Weix at the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital, Saturday, April 26th.
Mrs. Helen Jorgenson and Mrs. Mollie Holmes of Chicago, sisters of Bill Roth, are visiting at the Roth home.
Miss Bernadette Kraus left last week Thursday for Chicago, Ill., for a week’s visit with her sisters and their families.
Mr. and Mrs. Nick Gierl spent several days last week at Bloomington, Ill., where they attended an insurance meeting.
Miss Margaret Frane returned to Milwaukee after spending several weeks at the home of her mother, Mrs. L. W. Frane.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Conley of Madison spent the week-end with the latter’s mother, Mrs. Lena Eder, and other relatives.
Mrs. William Cammers returned from the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital where she had been receiving treatments following a car accident.
Mrs. Kenneth Bonar and daughter, Mary Lou, of Chicago, Ill., spent the past week at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis J. Steinwand.
Mrs. Carl Mundt is visiting at Mt. Clemens, Mich., at the home of her son in law and daughter, Rev. and Mrs. Russell Deng.
David Frane has been appointed substitute clerk at the Colby post office in place of Joe Steinwand, who resigned as it is not always possible for him to get away from his business.
Wm. Harry of Colby and Mr. and Mrs. S. Board attended the funeral services of Mrs. Harry’s aunt, Mary Raihl, at Augusta Saturday. Mrs. Harry was unable to attend because of illness.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Greis and son, Billy, and Mr. and Mrs. Lois Brehm and daughter, Susan, spent Sunday in Minneapolis where they attended the Ice Follies.
When Al Frane was sharpening fence posts Wednesday morning, a splinter of wood struck him in the face, causing a serious cut. Wm. Harry took him to the Colby Clinic for treatment.
Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Paxton are leaving for Arlington, Va., today, Thursday, after spending about a week with the latter’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Olson.
A. X. Umhoefer, Paul Umhoefer and C. J. Kraus attended a district meeting of the Catholic Order of Foresters at Antigo April 20. They were accompanied by Mrs. A. X. Umhoefer and Miss Mary Umhoefer.
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Sossaman and son, Floyd and Darrell, and daughter, Phyllis, and Ray Kestelloot and Marcia Schulz, spent Sunday evening at the Dr. E. B. Elvis home at Medford, celebrating Mrs. Elvis’ birthday anniversary.
Joyce Berry left Sunday for Sheboygan, Lenore Berry left Monday for Wausau and Birdell Berry is leaving today, Thursday, for Eau Claire. The three were here for a few weeks to help care for their mother, Mrs. W. L. Berry, who had been ill.
Mrs. William Reusch, Miss Dolores Beyerl, Gerald Beyerl and Martin Jacobs, former Colby residents now residing in Albamina, Calif., spent the past week visiting relatives and friends in Colby, Wisconsin. They started on their return to California Wednesday morning.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Duellmann and son, Edward, of Harshaw, Wis., spent the week-end at the W.E. Billmann home. Dinner guests Sunday at the Billmann home were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Meske, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Meske and daughter, Lila, and Mr. and Mrs. Art Leichtnam and son, Robert, all of Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Billmann and daughter, Joyce Jean, of Manawa, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Billmann and sons, Kenneth, Donald and Jerry, of Chili, Wis., and Mrs. Wm. Garbisch and children, Leonhard, Shirley and Merle, of Marshfield.
