Edwards, Elmer E. (5 Mar. 1871 - 1 Apr. 1947)
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. S. Matthews, pastor of the Christian church of Owen, April 3, at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, Wisconsin for Elmer E. Edwards, age 76, who died of a heart attack on April 1 at the family home near Atwood. Active pall bearers were Julius Lange, John Augustine, John Untiedt, Paul Jagotzinski, Anton Woik and Edwin Awe. D. H. McDonald was an honorary pall bearer. Burial was made in the Riverside cemetery at Withee.
Mr. Edwards was born March 5, 1871, at Illiopolis, Ill., and spent his youth with his parents on a farm north of that city. In 1906, he married Lulu Gulso of Copeland to which union seven children were born, one of whom died in infancy. In 1920, he purchased the Elstrom farm near Atwood and he and his family moved onto the same in March. That place was his home since then.
Surviving are his wife and six children - Hershal of Stevens Point, Mrs. Louella Mola and Mrs. Mary Louise Hardrath of Unity, Louis of Neillsville and George and Dorothy at home. Also a sister, Mrs. Laura Snyder of Houston, Texas, and a brother, Frank, of Springfield, Ill. There are six grand children.
