Baumgarten, Alvina (Jan. 1874 - 13 Jun. 1947)

Mrs. William Baumgarten, a former Colby citizen, died suddenly at Pelican Lake, Minn., at the age of 73 years, a brain hemorrhage being the cause of her departure. She died in the doctor’s office. Funeral services were held at the Lulloff funeral home in Colby Tuesday afternoon, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating, and internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery. Pall bearers were Wm. Ebert, Jr., Nick Gierl, Joe Miller, George Tesmer, Frank Meyer and C. J. Kraus.

Mrs. Baumgarten was born in Germany and came to the United States when nine years of age. She was married to Wm. Baumgarten on Nov. 18, 1890, at Grafton, Minn. She spent most of her life at Grafton, but also spent several years in Medford, Wis., Colby, Wis., Minot, Minn., and Pelican Lake, Minn.

Surviving are six children - Mrs. Otto Rannow of Colby, Ernest of Hutchinson, Minn., Rudolph of Olevia, Minn., Alex of Pelican Lake, Minn., and Alfred of Pelican Lake. There are 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her husband died in 1940.

All the children were here for the funeral.
