Schnell, Augusta (26 May 1863 - 29 Aug. 1947)

Funeral services for Mrs. Augusta Schnell, whose death was chronicled last week, were held at the Evangelical and Reformed church at Chilton Friday afternoon, Aug. 29th, Rev. E. H. Reppert officiating, and internment was made in the Hillside cemetery. Grand sons were pallbearers and were Harold Miller, Elmer Greve, Arnold Miller, Henry Streckert, Melvin Miller and Lester Miller.

The deceased was born in Manitowoc county on May 26, 1863, thus reaching the age of 84 years and three months. She died of complications of old age at the home of her son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Roewe, at 4:00 A.M. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 1947. She was married to Fred Miller in Manitowoc county on Nov. 24, 1881, who died January 27, 1911. On March 16, 1913, she married Fred Schnell. They came to Colby in 1915. Mr. Schnell died November 21, 1922. For the past 20 years, Mrs. Schnell made her home with her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Roewe.

Surviving children are Mrs. John Streckert of Long Lake, Wis., Mrs. Charles Roewe of Colby, Richard Miller of Elkhart Lake and Amos Miller of Elkhart Lake. Also surviving are one brother and two sisters - Frey Sy of Kiel, Wis., Mrs. James Murphy of Chilton and Mrs. John Murphy of Portland, Ore.

Mrs. Schnell was a good Christian and was of a kind and congenial disposition which made her well-liked by all who knew her.
