Schmidt, Mr./Mrs. Wm. J. (50th Anniv. - 16 Jan. 1948)

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Schmidt of Colby, observed their golden wedding anniversary last Saturday with a family reunion at home. All of their six children and their families were present. In the evening, "open house" was held for their many friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt were married January 16, 1898, in the town of Mosil, Sheboygan county, and lived there until 1909, when they moved to a farm in the town of Hull, Marathon county. After 17 years of farming, they moved to the city of Colby, where they have made their home for 32 years. Their children are Mrs. John Hager, Walter and Irvin Schmidt, Milwaukee; Arthur Schmidt, town of Hull; Mrs. Arthur Frane, Athens, and Ray Schmidt, Atwood. The couple also has nine grand-children.
