Lokken, Peter J. (24 FEB 1863 - 25 MAR 1941)

Peter J. Lokken, who passed away at his farm home west of the village on Tuesday, March 25, was born in Norway on Feb. 24, 1863. He came to this country in 1881 and was married to Tena Lokken in June 1893. They settled on their farm the same year and lived there the past 48 years.

Mr. Lokken leaves to mourn, his wife, one son, John Lokken of Chicago; three daughters, Mrs. Edward (Matilda) Zelinski of Weyerhauser, Mrs. Francis (Alma) Tuttle of Marshfield; and Mrs. Allen (Norma) Hawks of Greenwood, Wisconsin. There are nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday afternoon from the Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Rev. W.L. Anderson of Prairie Farm officiated. A quartet composed of Mrs. Arthur Laabs, Mrs. Theodore Thompson, Mrs. Alfred Thompson and Mrs. Fred Pudlas sang, Under His Wings and Ivory Palaces, with Mildred Thompson at the organ. Mrs. E.R. Erickson sang a song in the Norwegian Language.

Floral tributes were in charge of Lois Tuttle, Bonnie Tuttle, Kathryn Peterson, Violet Rued, Betty Geary, Grace Pudlas and Jean Tronson.

Pallbearers were Alfred Thompson, Arthur Thompson, E.M. Peterson, A.M. Erickson, E.R. Erickson and Cornell Erickson. Burial was made in the family lot in the church cemetery.

Among the out of town people attending the rites were Mrs. K.A. Jacobson and Mrs. G. Olson of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Olson, T.M. Olson, Mr. and Mrs. R. Berg and Miss Louise Olson of Strum; Mrs. Tom Tuttle of Marshfield and Mrs. Dave McClaren of Bruce.
