VanderWegen, Theresa (1 APR 1860 - 9 MAY 1941)
Final rites were conducted Monday a.m. at 9:00 o’clock from the Sacred Heart Church at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) for Mrs. Theresa VanderWegen, 81, who passed away Friday afternoon at the home of her son, G.L. VanderWegen at Eau Claire. Her death was attributed to a complication of ailments.
The service was read by the Rev. C.D. Brady. Interment was made in the Riverside Cemetery.
Theresa VanderWegen was born on April 1, 1860, in Holland. When a child of eight years of age she moved to America, coming with her parents. They first settled near Green Bay in Brown County, living there until 1901 when they moved to Colby, Wisconsin. The family resided near Colby for a couple of years and then moved to Withee where she made her home until old age and illness came upon her. She then made her home with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. James Devine, in Owen.
Her health had been failing for the past three months. She spent considerable time of this period at Green Bay with relatives and the past two weeks she spent with her son, Gus, at Eau Claire, where she passed away.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. J.H. Devine of Owen, Mrs. H.J. Bidwell of Stevens Point, Mrs. C. Johnson and Mrs. A. Denys of Green Bay, and Mrs. M. Springer of Beloit; and four sons, Gus and Clarence of Eau Claire, Thomas of Thorp and Frank of Duluth.
Her husband and three sons preceded her in death.

Denys and Mrs. C.R. Johnson of Green Bay; Mrs. Nellie Springer and daughter, Margaret of Beloit; Mr. and Mrs. Frank VanderWegen and family of Duluth; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard smith of Hudson; and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas VanderWegen of Thorp.
